Old Skool
Ahh, the (not so) good old days. Anytime I get nostalgic about my early days of computer geekdom, all I have to do is run an emulator and realize that things weren't all that great back then. Heck, I wish I could have back all of the time I've spent waiting for slow disk drives, modems, dot matrix printers, etc. I always have a good chuckle looking back at some of the games I used to play too. I can't believe I actually wasted so much time on some of that stuff. Of course, I loved it and it set the stage for my ability to earn a livlihood today as a computer tech, so it wasn't all bad. I was an Atari man from the start, with my 800XL and later my 520ST. Due to a lack of funds, I only dreamed of owning an Apple in those days. I heard about those fancy machines like the Apple IIGS and pecked away at their keyboards wistfully whenever I happened to be in an American appliance store. If you felt the same way, now you can see what you were missing.
This site is dedicated to the memory and preservation of the Apple IIGS and its essential applications. There is a very nice IIGS emulator available for OSX (KEGS), and a decent selection of software. Highly recommended for those trips down memory lane, or just to see what all the fuss was about.
